You know the property on Highway 5 North in Bryant where we used to see the funny messages on the marquee sign out front? It has been zoned commercial and up for sale for a short period of time and now there’s an offer. Some backstory:
Mr. Paul Timothy Zoellner was responsible for those messages and he was quite a card. I can remember one message that said something like “FREE NAKED LADIES U DIG.” When I told my mom about the sign, she explained to me that Naked Ladies are a type of flower, and he apparently was telling people they can have them if they dig them up themselves. The sign above showed up after Mr. Zoellner caught some kids putting junk in the creek behind his property. There were enough drainage problems already at the time. You can guess what the symbols at the bottom of the sign mean.
Mr. Zoellner died a couple of days after Thanksgiving in 2014 and his wife Bertha Zoellner, recently decided to sell the property.
Mrs. Zoellner has accepted an offer from someone and she says she likes who it is, but she is not allowed to say yet the name of the buyer. So we’ll wait, and as soon as I can tell you, I will.
The property is outlined in red below and you can see that there are varying types of businesses around. Restaurants, insurance, banks, a church, an elementary school and more.
This is the main structure of the Zoellner property.
The mobile home has been sold and is being taken away soon by a separate buyer.
