A Benton business is looking to sell an historical log cabin, due to a highway widening project.
Northern Properties, who purchased the land from the Stout family in 2006, owned a convenience store located at 1921 Arkansas Highway 5 North. This is right in front of Dogwood Lakes Apartments, at the intersection of Alcoa Road.
The property is pictured above, in a postcard. The log cabin was formerly part of Jellystone Park, a Yogi Bear-themed park. In addition to camping available, it had a swimming pool, miniature golf and snack shop, as well as an indoor gathering area similar to a living room, with a fireplace. The campground and park is long gone, and was eventually replaced with the apartment complex. The cabin remains, as shown in the photos below, courtesy of Loopnet.com.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has a project to widen the highway in front of the store, requiring the removal of the fuel system and canopy.
The property owners wish to sell the cabin (photo below), but it must be moved from the land. If you’re interested, contact [email protected] or 501-777-5758.
