Highway work began Saturday October 28th related to pavement preservation on U.S. Highway 67 in Saline County. According to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials, this requires lanes in both directions to be alternately closed.
Weather permitting, the contractor will be milling the existing asphalt pavement in preparation for placement of a new asphalt layer between Exit 114 at Interstate 30 and the Hot Spring County line.
Random alternating lane closures will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily for at least three weeks while the contractor completes the work.
Motorists should be aware of slow traffic and potential delays. Traffic will be controlled by warning signs and flaggers. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through any highway work zones.
