UPDATE FEB 23, 2021
Benton Mayor Tom Farmer is asking locals to continue conserving water until Sunday, February 28th.
“We want to thank everyone for conserving water during the current situation,” stated Farmer. “The latest reports from the City of Benton, City of Haskell and Southwest Water Users Association is that while the systems are not at full capacity things are continuing to improve. We need to continue water conservation through Sunday in order to give the systems the opportunity to reach full capacity.”
Meanwhile, the water tanks from the Arkansas National Guard will be at the locations below, until Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m.
UPDATE FEB 21, 2021
In order to provide clear and accurate information regarding recent reports of water interruptions in portions of Saline County, the only water systems that are currently reporting water pressure issues to my office are the City of Benton, City of Bauxite, City of Haskell, Salem Water Users Association, and Southwest Water Users Association.
No other water systems within Saline County have reported having issues.
If you are a customer of Bryant Water, Sardis Water, East End Water, Shannon Hills, Woodland Hills, Paron and Hot Springs Village you are NOT impacted by the recent water pressure interruptions in the Benton system.
In response to those water customers who have lost water pressure Saline County Office of Emergency Management with the help of the National Guard is standing up two drinking water filling distribution points for those customers who are served by Benton Utilities, Southwest Water, Salem Water, Haskell Water and Bauxite Water and who are experiencing no water pressure.
Customers who served by these water systems and who are experiencing no pressure are encouraged to visit these distribution points for drinking water. Please expect to bring your own containers to fill for drinking water. These distribution points will be available from 8 AM – 5 PM Sunday through Tuesday. Additional times and dates will be announced as needed.
Sun, Feb 21 – Tue, Feb 23, 8am-5pm at the following locations:
- Benton River Center, 1069 Airlane Drive, Benton AR. 72015
- Tinseltown Theater, 17314 I-30, Benton AR. 72019
There is also a limited supply of bottled water at each location that has been donated by Walmart and Everett.
We strongly urge everyone in these service areas who still have water pressure to conserve water by not running the dishwasher, washing machine and take short showers instead of running a bath. Please continue to observe water boil notice procedures and contact your water provider for more information and updates.
