With temperatures forecast in single digits on Thursday night, one organization is looking to help people looking for warmth. If you are unsheltered or know of someone who is, there will be a warming center at 1212 W. South Street in Benton (map below). It used to be a skating rink but it’s now The Church of Helping Hands and Caring Hearts.
Church partner Bonnie Johnson also operates Helping Hands second-hand store, four blocks up the street. She said to donate any of the items in the list below, Johnson said you can drop them at the store at 809 W South St in Benton, until 5:30 p.m. Thursday. After that, you can bring the items to the church at 1212 W South Street from 5:30 p.m. Thursday, December 22nd until 6 a.m. Monday, December 26th.

East Little Rock Community Center, call 501-955-3444 and a driver will pick them up, free of charge, to be transported to the warming shelter. Pets allowed
NORTH LITTLE ROCK
Riverhouse, 120 Riverfront Park Dr, NLR 72114 Warming shelter open Thursday, December 22 @ 4pm through Monday, December 26 @ 8am. Pets are welcome, food and water provided, no ID required. No one intoxicated will be allowed.
JACKSONVILLE
1st Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 1208 West Main (entrance is on Crestview Dr) Entrance is NW end, metal doors (not glass doors). The doors will be locked, knock for entry. Warming shelter open 6pm through 8am on Thursday, December 22 through Saturday, December Snacks and sandwiches will be provided. They will have some cots, mats and blankets.
