Travis Wood Reportedly Signing with Kansas City Royals

I’ve been watching the rumor mill to see where Bryant High School grad (oh, and MLB World Series Champion) Travis Wood would end up next. I’ve seen the Chicago Cubs think about keeping him, the San Diego Padres have been interested recently, and even the (shiver) Toronto Bluejays. But today, it looks like the Kansas City Royals are closing in on our local boy.

According to Jerry Crasnick, baseball writer for ESPN.com and Baseball America, a source of his says Wood is signing with the Royals and will compete for a spot in the starting rotation. Baseball is a big deal in Saline County, and we wish Travis all the best. More news when I hear it.
