Original 9:41 a.m. – According to Benton Utilities, they have an Electric Crew en route to North St and Border St to take care of a transformer that is on fire.
Update 9:57 a.m. – Benton Utilities is on scene replacing a blown transformer that caused a major power outage affecting all schools and as far as East Lakeview. They plan to have it fixed momentarily.
Update 10:00 a.m. – Benton Utilities says all power should be restored at this time. Call (501) 776-5923 with any questions.
