On Thursday, a Dallas judge approved the sale of a nationwide chain to close all their stores – eight of them in Arkansas. The Tuesday Morning Corporation described itself as “a leading off-price retailer of home goods and décor,” in a press release.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on February 14, 2023, in an effort to reorganize operations. Judge Edward L. Morris of approved the sale of the chain’s 200 stores to a liquidation company on April 27, 2023 in the United States Bankruptcy Court Northern District of Texas.
The buyer is Hilco Merchant Resources, whose clients list includes JCPenney, Sears, Payless Shoe Source, Target, TJX, Walgreens, ToysRUs and more. The price is reported to be over $32 million.
