You may have noticed during recent severe weather that warning sirens in Saline County didn’t all go off at once. That was by design.
According to CJ Engel, Director of the Saline County Office of Emergency Management, the Outdoor Warning Siren System in Saline County has undergone a recent upgrade. Half of the county’s 46 sirens have been upgraded so they could be activated individually or in groups.
The sirens that have been upgraded are located throughout the county in the far north, south and west sections of the county. All sirens located along the I-30 corridor around city limits will continue to be activated together in the event of an emergency when it may be unsafe to be outdoors.
