There’s a fun business opening soon in Saline County, Arkansas. If you have stress and you’ve ever felt like just breaking stuff, most businesses aren’t going to want you blowing off steam on their property – but this venue actually encourages that behavior.

Amanda Parker, along with her family, will be opening The Break Room very soon at 1812 N. Reynolds Road #2 in Bryant. You may also see her husband Cory Holt or her son Benjamin Hernandez around.
Parker describes the business saying, “The Break Room is a safe and inclusive place for all persons to come and process all the stress, life events and emotions that we all experience – in a safe and controlled environment. Participants get to smash, bash and break to their heart’s content!”
She was looking for a healthy way for people in the community to deal with emotions, boost mental health and decrease addictive behavior. “During and post covid, I saw all the numbers of increased alcohol consumption, depression, stress, etc. – and then just observing how myself and others are being affected by this collective trauma we ALL experienced…. US citizens and particularly Arkansans have less access to assistance and mental health resources… I hope to bring some measure of peace to some people and connect them with resources and assistance.”
Parker said she wants customers to have an experience that is freeing, joyful, liberating, safe to be themselves, and hopeful. “I want everyone to have fun but to also get whatever they need from it out of the experience. To know that they are seen and heard and matter.”
The Break Room is scheduled to open in late July 2024. The open hours will be Tuesday – Sunday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Earlier hours are reserved for groups and by appointment. The cost will be approximately $25/person, according to Parker. “I have space for 1 to 2 people and up to 5 or 6. A selection of glass only or a smorgasbord of items. We do offer discounts for groups especially treatment/transitional facilities.”
