U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced Friday that the Federal Income Tax filing date is now pushed back to July 15th, 2020, at President Trump’s direction. This is three months after the normal deadline date of April 15th. This doesn’t mean you have to wait to file. The IRS says particularly if you are getting a refund, you should file quickly to get your refund more quickly.
The federal government sent out a release on March 18th saying they would move the deadline for payments owed by tax payers.
