The City of Bryant issued a statement Tuesday morning that Sue Ashcraft, passed away on Friday, February 11th. She was elected as City Clerk in the 2014 election and has served citizens of Bryant in that position for just over 7 years.
The statement expressed great sadness. It said, “Sue was a community volunteer and truly the heart of her family. Our thoughts go out to her husband of 48 years, Tracy, her son Shane, daughter Teena and all of her many grandchildren whom we know she loved very much.”
The family is holding a private service with arrangements through Smith-Benton Funeral Home. See her obituary below.
Elizabeth “Sue” Ashcraft, 63, went home to be with Jesus on February 11, 2022. Sue joined her mother, Freda; father, William; and her sister, Teresa on the streets of gold.
Sue was born on September 9, 1958. On her 13th birthday she met her best friend, and the love of her life, Tracy Ashcraft. In their 48 years together they had two children, Shane and Teena.
Sue was a caregiver at heart. She was always the one her family called for answers to all of life’s questions. Sue was definitely the heart of her family. She loved to hide money throughout her house. Some of her hobbies including canning fruits and vegetables and shopping online. Sue’s desire to learn new things never stopped. She has continued to take courses ever since she graduated high school. If she wanted to know about something, she would take a class. She taught her family the most important lesson-family is everything and to treasure each moment spent together.
Sue was survived by her husband, Tracy; son, Shane; daughter, Teena; grandchildren: Gray, Tye, Landon, Beau, Mason, Elizabeth, Preston, and Evalyn; and many more family members and friends who love Sue and will miss her always.
