The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the two suspects shown in the video below?, after a car theft in the Salem community just outside the city limits of Benton.
The owner of the car stated that she started the vehicle about 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd, to warm it up. Upon returning to the car at 7:00 a.m., she witnessed her car being driven out of the driveway.
The police report shows she immediately called 911. When Sheriff’s deputies came to investigate, they looked at video from her doorbell camera, showing two suspects getting into the car and driving away.
The report states that while the deputies interviewed the car owner, her husband contacted her around 7:30 a.m. to say that he found the car at the Pilot Travel Center on Alcoa Road, near Interstate 30 in Benton.
Deputies checked the area around Pilot for suspects and checked video surveillance footage from the business. That video showed the vehicle pulling into the parking lot and stopping close to the front door. Two males exited the vehicle and entered the back seat of a white four-door sedan.
