I’ve received several messages on Sunday morning and afternoon about the Arkansas State Police (ASP) and S.W.A.T. positioned at the east end of Highway 229 and Interstate 30.
The first text to MySaline at around 11:00 a.m. said “Something is going on off Hwy 229 right as you turn from the I-30 WB frontage road. ASP and SWAT are there.”
Another text said, “Across from [Bruno’s/Ed & Kay’s, in the houses, there were State Troopers, a huge ASP command center SWAT Humvees and several black unmarked SUVs coming out of the drive like something happened.”
Well I’m happy to say it’s nothing. According to ASP spokesperson Bill Sadler, it is a training exercise and nothing the public should be concerned about. So there you go, no worries. You can get back to your regular Sunday.
