A downtown Benton business closed their doors on Thursday, August 17, 2023, and it left people wondering over the weekend – what happened? But a few days later, the owner of Salt Soap Co. finally spoke up on social media.

Collette Collat has been making soaps, lotions, bath bombs, scrubs, and more at 111 W. South Street since the Spring of 2019. So it was a shock to her customers to drive by the shop and see it empty.
The store is empty but you can find them at www.saltsoapco.com.
Collatt posted an explanation on Facebook Sunday evening. She let customers know that it was not in her plan to make a quick exit. She states that she had three days to move but doesn’t elaborate. She could not be reached for comment. Customers can still find the business online and on social media.
