The Royal Theatre in downtown Benton presents SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical, coming on select days June 13th through 23rd. Sponsored by McCombs Medical, this is a full-length musical comedy that will entertain and delight the whole family.
When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano is going to erupt and it will destroy their home, SpongeBob and his friends decide to come together to save their beloved undersea world. All hope lost, and lives hang in the balance but a most unexpected hero rises up. SpongeBob SquarePants is an exciting new musical featuring irresistible characters and magical music. This show is sure to make a splash with audiences young and old.

Creative Team:
SpongeBob the Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow. It has original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau.
Direction and choreography by Summer Brinley, with music direction by Heidi McCartney. This musical is co-produced by Carissa A. Lumpkins and Susan Goldman.
