Diabetes is one of the leading causes of disability and death in the United States. One in 10 Americans have diabetes — that’s more than 30 million people. And another 84 million adults in the United States are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Locally, in Saline County, over 10,000 individuals live with or are at risk of diabetes.
“Living with diabetes can be challenging to manage every day,” said Rebecca Jones, director of marketing and communications at Saline Memorial Hospital. “But you don’t have to manage your diabetes alone. That’s why we’re so excited to provide these classes and share and learn from each other.”
Many individuals are diagnosed with Diabetes and receive no training on how to manage their disease. By participating in our Diabetes Self-Management Education classes you will learn how making healthy changes can greatly lower your risk of complications.
