The Shoppach House invites the public to its annual membership meeting on Sunday, March 30th, 2025. If you aren’t familiar, it’s the historic property at 503 N. Main Street in Benton, next to Kentucky Fried Chicken. It is the oldest standing brick home in Saline County. Read more below.
The meeting starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Shoppach House grounds. Enter thru the door on the left of the front of the building. If it rains, the meeting will be at the Benton Chamber of Commerce at 607 N. Market Street.
The Shoppach House (pronounced “Shooper House”) is operated by Saline County Art League, Inc. The organization President, Harold D. Pelton, will give an update on recent renovation progress, as well as upcoming plans.
If you’re a history lover or just a community members who wants to participate, please come. “We need individuals to join us on our Board to carry this Historic Story of Benton into the future,” said Pelton. “We look forward to your attendance, it is, by the way, YOUR House.”
