If you were wondering why there were so many police units at the Walmart location in Benton Tuesday night, I’m happy to report that it was a positive event.
Saline County Sheriff Rodney Wright, deputies and officers from surrounding agencies came together for the annual “Shop With Our Cops” event at the Benton Walmart. Each year, deputies and officers team up with community partners and private donors to raise money to help help children shop for gifts for themselves and their families. This year, 44 children were able to do their shopping at the event.
“Thank you to the individuals and businesses that donated so generously to help make this year’s event so great!” stated Sheriff Wright.
