The Benton Area Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Benton Police Department is conducting an Active Shooter Response Seminar. The Chamber staff has been working with Police Chief Scotty Hodges in preparation for the event. Trained members of the Benton Police Department will be conducting the seminar. The lead trainer will be Captain Eric Haworth.
The goal of the seminar is to help local businesses with critical incident response planning. The seminar will enable business owners to work with their employees so that a good plan will be in place in case there is an intrusion in the work day. Also, part of the training will involve how to deal with the aftermath of such a traumatic incident.
The event will be held at the Benton Event Center on Thursday, September 6, 9:00 to 10:30 am. There is no fee to attend this event. Coffee and pastries will be served. Register online at https://bentonchamber.chambermaster.com/eventregistration/register/4563.
