Benton area residents calling U.S. Senator John Boozman’s (R-AR) Washington office this summer may have heard a familiar voice on the other end of the line. Hank Herzfeld, a 2021 graduate of Benton High School, participated in Boozman’s Congressional Summer Internship Program.

While in Washington, Herzfeld attended committee hearings, provided constituent services and assisted staff with various legislative and communications-related projects. He also met many influential Arkansans as part of Boozman’s guest speaker series and spent a day shadowing the senator to get a first-hand look into his role representing Arkansas.
“Working in Senator Boozman’s office has been an honor and a pleasure. My time in D.C. was incredibly rewarding, and that is all due to the unequalled quality of the senator’s staff and intern program. During my time in the office, I had the privilege to learn firsthand about our nation’s Congress and the work that Senator Boozman and the Arkansas delegation do for our state,” Herzfeld said.
“It was a pleasure having Hank be a member of my team this summer. He gained new skills and valuable experience that will surely help him in his future career. I appreciate his commitment and dedication to serving Arkansans and being an ambassador for our office,” Boozman said.
Herzfeld is a rising senior at the University of Arkansas where he studies history, political science, renaissance and medieval studies and German. Upon graduation, he plans to attend law school. He is the son of Robert and Karma Herzfeld.
