The Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) ended up arresting a Benton, Arkansas woman on drug charges. But they were in the process of Deputies investigating a theft.
Deputies were contacted by residents at a Heritage Way residence concerning an incident with stolen jewelry. A woman said that her neighbor, Tasha Cantrell cleaned their home. Later in the day, they noticed items missing.
Ms. Cantrell admitted on a phone call that she had rings that belonged to her neighbor. She said she would return them.
Meanwhile, deputies located Ms. Cantrell’s vehicle driving on Highway 229 and pulled her over for a moving violation. A small amount of suspected methamphetamine was located in the vehicle along with paraphernalia.
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is following up with Ms. Cantrell about the theft charges. She was arrested and transported to the county jail. She is charged with the following:
- Possess Controlled Substance Sch I, II Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia (in the Course/ Furtherance of Felony Drug Viol)
- Theft of Property (value $2500 or more) – felony
