Seven Deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) graduated from FTO (Field Training Officer) class this week.
The SCSO said in a statement that “these fine men and women have years of experience, great work ethic. They will be responsible for training new Deputies once they graduate from the academy or join as pre-certified officers.”
The FTO program is a 40-hour class. It covers many different topics in how to best train new Deputies to do their job, while being within departmental standards. They also learn how to work within the bounds of constitutional law, and reduce civil liability.
