A recent traffic stop produced several illegal drugs and a pile of fake license plates.
Saline County Sheriff’s Office Deputies pulled over a black Kia Forte with three people in it, at the intersection of Spring Lake Road and Arch Street. The incident report states that the driver, Christy Collums, age 40, appeared nervous and shaking. She told officers she was coming from a birthday party and was giving the rear passenger a ride to Little Rock, according to the report. Police say the car smelled of marijuana.
While deputies spoke with the individuals, they noticed a baggie with “green leafy substance” in the pocket of the rear passenger, Terrance Miller, age 32. Police also found digital scales in his jacket pocket, and plastic wrapping containing eight white oval tablets they identified as hydrocodone, located in the rear car seat.
The front passenger, Tyler Davidson, age 28, was removed from the vehicle and police say he was found to have a clear plastic baggie with crystal white substance in in pants pocket. In addition, police say they found a clear plastic baggie in an almost full Dr. Pepper bottle next to where he was sitting. The report states that Davidson said the substance was for his “personal use” and that he tried to destroy it so he wouldn’t be charged.
Deputies reported that after a search of the vehicle, several copied temporary tags with different expiration dates were located in the glove compartment. Deputies checked the temporary tag that on the vehicle, with an expiration date of March 31st, and determined it was also a photocopy. Collums was cited for failure to register, fictitious license plate, improper use of registration, no proof of insurance.
Miller and Davidson were arrested and taken to the Saline County Jail and the vehicle was towed. Miller was charged with Possession of controlled substance schedule IV, Possession of instrument of crime, and Possession of controlled substance schedule II.
Davidson was charged with 2 counts of Possession of controlled substance schedule I and II, Obstructing governmental operations, and Tampering with physical evidence.
