If this math makes sense to you – it looks like a foreign language to me – then you probably have some idea of what it takes to figure out what happened after a vehicle accident. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced Friday morning that two deputies, Eric Stricklin and Sam Griffin, have completed a 12-week Accident Reconstruction class.
The Criminal Justice Institute held the first class – the basic course was 40 hours. They then moved on to the Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation course which was 80 Hours. It was given through the University of Florida Institute of Police Technology and Management. This is one of the most challenging courses that police officers can take because there is vast amount of math – including trigonometry – and also the physics involved in determining the speed and direction of a vehicle.
Congratulations, Deputies, and thanks for taking the extra steps to further your career in service.
