The Saline County Library will host a Veteran’s Benefits Fair on Saturday, November 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library. If you served in the military, bring your DD214 and join in.
This event will feature vendors from central Arkansas who will have information for veterans including healthcare information, education information and more.
Featured vendors are as follows:
- Captel Phone:
Telephones that display every word the caller says throughout the conversation; ideal for people with some degree of hearing loss. - Heroes Behind the Line:
A nonprofit organization established to help First Responders with their mental well-being. They provide education, outreach and advocacy for veterans who need mental health support. - Veteran’s Administration Services of Saline County:
Provides services for all Saline County Veterans to help facilitate benefits offered by the VA as the veterans advocate for Compensation or Pension Claims. - Arkansas Self-Defense:
A certified Tai Chi instructor will be here to discuss the benefits of the technique. Many practitioners of Tai Chi use the technique to enhance physical and mental health, as well as improve posture, balance, flexibility and strength. In addition, Tai Chi is said to boost mood, alleviate pain, strengthen the immune system and improve heart health. - Veteran’s Diploma Program:
Bryant High School is honored to recognize the service of our military veterans by providing an opportunity for those who were unable to finish high school due to deployment in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War to receive a high school diploma. A veteran will need to present a Veteran Diploma Application and documentation of honorable discharge as evidence of eligibility.
