The Friends of the Saline County Library are selling Valentine’s Day Gift Bags for $10 starting January 24th and going through February 12th, or while supplies last. You can choose from three bags: adults, teens, and children.
Adult gift bags include a vase of silk flowers, truffles, a wall hanger, a wine glass, and one book buck.
Teen gift bags include suckers, a notebook, a Valentine’s bucket, a Valentine’s gnome, a Valentine’s succulent, and one book buck.
Children’s gift bags include chocolate, a Valentine’s paint set, a tumbler with a straw, a plushie, and one book buck.
Bags will be ready for pick up starting February 7th and can be paid with cash, check, or card at either branch of the Saline County Library. Visit www.SalineCountyLibrary.org/Get-Involved/Friends-of-the-Library to request a bag.
Book bucks are redeemable for $1 off any item at the Friends of the Library Used Book Store in Benton or the Used Book Store section in Bryant. A full list of prices can be found on the Friends of the Library page of their website.
“The bags seemed to be really popular in 2020 and 2021,” said Kari Lapp, Community Engagement Manager, “but it was getting hard to make sure we could find a book that was tailored to each order’s taste. We decided it would make more sense to give a book buck instead. The books in the bag were from our Used Book Store and were either $1 or $0.50. By offering a book buck, the patron is able to pick out exactly what book (or movie) they want!”
The Friends of the Library are a nonprofit volunteer group that raises money to donate to the library for special projects. To join the Friends of the Library, visit either branch of the library or fill out an application on the Friends page of our website.
