The Saline County Library is looking for teen volunteers at the Benton branch for the fall semester. If you are a teen between the ages of 13 and 18, you are eligible to volunteer at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library.
They are looking for enthusiastic self-starters who can follow a list of directions and work independently. They will take ten volunteers per semester.
Volunteers will work shifts of one hour each week. Regular duties include cleaning toys, picking up the children’s room, shelving books, putting books back in order, craft prep and occasionally helping with guinea pig care.
To apply, pick up an application at the children’s desk at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library located at 1800 Smithers Drive. Applicants must fill out a new application and submit it by August 25th. The librarians will look over applications and make their selection of ten volunteers the next week. The chosen volunteers will be contacted by phone and email.
If you don’t make the list for this opportunity, there are several other places to volunteer in Saline County. Contact Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, Saline Memorial Hospital or the local animal shelter and see if they could use volunteers.
