You can get pizza delivered, or packages, or groceries or prepared food from any number of restaurants… And also now you can get books from your local library. ?
In an effort to better serve their community, the Saline County Library is now offering item delivery for requested items. Item deliveries are perfect for those who prefer not to visit the library during the pandemic.
When calling to place a hold request for delivery, tell the staff member that you would like to have those items delivered to your home.
If you are placing an item on hold using the website, select “delivered to me (SCL) / mailed to me (MHSCL).”
Once your item is ready, the library’s staff will deliver it to your home. Next you just call when you are ready for item(s) to be picked up and returned to the library.
Book delivery staff member, Mason Newberry, is looking forward to serving patrons in this new way. “Item deliveries will open doors for the library to go further into the community to reach more people,” said Newberry.
The Saline County Library also offers homebound service, which is an alternative way for patrons to receive library materials if they cannot access the buildings because of extenuating circumstances. To learn more and sign up for homebound services, visit www.SalineCountyLibrary.org/services/anywhere-support/homebound.
To participate in the item delivery service, patrons must either call the library in Benton at 501-778-4766 or Bryant at 501-847-2166, or visit www.SalineCountyLibrary.org.
