The Saline County Library is hosting two author events in December.
1.
The first event features Dr. Sam Taggart. On December 9th at 7:00 p.m., he will be at Saline Memorial Hospital in their conference room, discussing his book Country Doctors of Arkansas. The Library describes it as “a fascinating look into the lives of doctors around Arkansas.” The address is 1 Medical Park Drive in Benton.
Dr. Taggart is a family physician who practiced medicine at Family Practice Associates of Benton. He founded the clinic and practiced there for forty years until his retirement in 2013.
The Library is holding this event in coordination with the Saline County Historical Society, Saline Memorial Hospital, and the Gann Museum.
Dr. Taggart invites participants to tell stories of doctors they have fond memories of following his discussion. He will also be selling and signing copies of all of his books at the event.
Registration is required; register at http://bit.ly/DrTaggartAuthorTalk.
2.
The other event is on December 13th with Ashlyn Ohm and her 52-week devotional A Year in the Woods. This event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Capachi’s Café in Hot Springs. The address is 600 Garland Ave, inside Gospel Light Baptist Church.
This book takes the reader through Ashlyn’s experience in nature as she translates it through scripture to give lessons of hope and encouragement. Ohm will be selling and signing copies of her devotional following her discussion.
Registration is required; register at http://bit.ly/AshlynOhmSCL.
Both of these author talks will be streamed live on the Saline County Library’s Facebook page. Viewers can submit questions that may be answered throughout the discussions.
