Around the World in 8 Games – Canasta

Come explore the traditional gaming world. Each week we will learn and play a different board game that originated from outside of the United States including Go, Canasta, Cribbage, Pachisi, and more.
Canasta originated in Uruguay in 1939. It is a mash-up of Bridge and Rummy and can be played by 2 or 4 players.
Dive In Ocean Storytime

Jurassic Adventure: Dungeons & Dinosaurs

Come trek through the jungles in a new Jurassic Adventure one-shot each week played using the TTRPG, Dungeons & Dragons 5e.
This series of one-shots will be full of dinosaurs and each week you will get to play a different level character to defeat the challenging fight ahead. Players are encouraged to bring their own character, or Ms. Chelsea will have a limited number of pre-made characters for you to use.
Players must be ages 13 – 18 and finished with 7th grade, but no older than graduated high school in 2024.

Building History

“Building History” features seven historic buildings in Benton, Bryant, and Bauxite. The Saline County Courthouse is one of them. The other six buildings serve completely different functions. They are the Gann House, the Hyten House, the Tull-Banks House, Bauxite Community Hall, and the Shoppach House. The exhibits highlight the history of each building and the many significant events that have made each place so important to our community.
Take a personal tour, guided by our Special Collections Assistant to learn more. The exhibit will be open for viewing Thursdays – Saturdays from 9 AM – 3 PM during normal Gann Museum hours. The last day to view the exhibit is Saturday, July 27th.
While a reservation is not required, we recommend parties of 5 or more call ahead at 501-778-5513.
