The Bauxite Old-Timers and The Bauxite Class of 1965 will each award a $2000 scholarship to a graduating Bauxite senior again this year.
The two scholarships are virtually identical in application process and funding.
The similarities…..
Both require completion of a short simple application. Both have the deadline of April 15, 2023. Both have a value of $2000, payable in one $500 installment per semester for four semesters. Both must be postmarked or hand delivered to 115 E Cross, Benton, on or before the deadline. Applications are available in the counselors’ office.
The differences…..
The Old Timers Scholarship is available to any Bauxite graduating senior attending any higher education institution regardless of the chosen field of study…. teacher, doctor, welder, engineer, barber, nurse, carpenter, plumber, psychologist, banker, or anything else you might imagine.
The Class Of ’65 Scholarship is available only to those Bauxite graduating seniors who have chosen to pursue a course of study designed to be completed in two years or less which will prepare them for employment in the world of work. These programs have historically been referred to as Vo-Tech programs. These students will be pursuing employment as mechanics, welders, truck drivers, nurses, medical technicians, electricians, cosmetologists, plumbers, masons, machinists, and so forth.
Ask your school counselor for an application.
