See video below of a meeting that Saline County History and Heritage Society (SCHHS) held on Thursday, July 21, 2016, for the public to learn about some history of politics in the area. Lib Carlisle was a featured speaker, included recollections about his start in politics, as well as the early years of Bill Clinton in elected office. The location was the Saline County History and Heritage Building at 123 North Market in Benton. Toward the end of the program, SCHHS President Steve Purdue took the microphone to finish the meeting, but Mr. Carlisle continued with some more story while seated.
The electricity was out in the beginning of the program, but so many people came that they went ahead with the program. The electricity returned during the program and the air conditioner was loud, so you may need to squint your ears a little, but the audio is turned up to help.
