Silos Cafe is now closed and I spoke to part-owner Callie Havens to get the rest of the story. She said they wanted to get out of the restaurant business, so they put the place up for sale about a week ago, thinking it could be a while. Someone surprised them and made a quick offer, so that is the reason for the sudden announcement. Employees will get paid and gift certificates will receive a reimbursement with proof of purchase. Havens said they sold the building and the property and have signed a non-disclosure agreement, which means they can’t reveal the buyer for 30 days. You can be sure it will be a restaurant though. A Benton favorite has held its last day in business Sunday, July 7th. Silos Cafe became a fast favorite for home cooking and meeting gatherings, but they announced Sunday afternoon that they would close the restaurant for good. Watch MySaline for more details.
