The “Silent Book Club” in Benton will host a time for a “Blind Date Book Exchange.” Come on Thursday, September 14 from 6 – 9 p.m. Admission is free.
The organizers wanted to have a book club but without the “scramble to finish the assigned book, and the pressure to have something smart to say.” They meet every 2nd Thursday. This time they are asking you to bring a wrapped book that you want to share with someone. Write a brief description on the front of the wrapper, or use a sticky note.
The order of the evening is as follows:
6:00pm-6:45pm: Arrive, order drinks, share what you’re reading, and Blind Date Book Exchange
6:45pm-7:45pm: Quiet Reading Hour upstairs at The Space
7:45pm-8:45pm: Optional socializing or just keep reading. Listening to live music from the balcony is always an option too.
The location is Cowork The Space, at 230 W South Street (upstairs) in downtown Benton. Register for this free event at www.eventbrite.com/e/silent-book-club-benton-tickets-699646049167. Follow them on Instagram @silentbookclubbenton.
