The Sardis Extension Homemakers Club will host craft classes at the Sardis Community Center at 11401 Community Lane in Bauxite. See the details for each class below and register by calling 501-840-1110. Registration and payment must be postmarked no later than the Friday before the class.
- The Soap Making class is Tuesday, February 12th at 10 a.m. for $25 per student. The class is limited to 10 adults, age 18 and over. Emily Simmons will teach cold process soap making. It’s the old-fashioned process that combines sodium hydroxide with fats and oils, and creates a soap that cleans. This session will introduce you soap making procedures required to make soap from scratch. Bread pan will be provided. Bring a large bowl and an immersion blender or whisk to class. The bowl is to mix ingredients and the bread pan is for you to take you soap home in. You can also bring an essential oil scent that you would like to add to your soap.
- The Knitting Basics class will be Thursday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $10 per student and there is a class limit of 10 students. Jo Jones is the instructor. Supplies are provided. Take home what you knit.
- The Rock Painting class is Thursday, April 11th at 6:30 p.m. The cost per student is $10 and class size is limited. Aleese Nichols is the instructor. Supplies are provided. Take home what you’ve painted.
