I’m UPDATING this story from this morning. Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis has spoken to legal counsel and the office will be selling marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Darlene Westbrook in the Clerk’s office said that there have not been any sold yet today, “but there have been lots of phone calls.”

Gee I wonder if you might have heard something about Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza striking down the ban on same-sex marriage in Arkansas, saying it’s unconstitutional.
That was Friday afternoon and first thing Saturday morning, the first same-sex couple got married in Carroll County (Eureka Springs).

So what are we doing in Saline County? Darlene Westbrook spoke for the Saline County Clerk’s office, saying, “As of now, we’re not selling any [marriage licenses]. I hope to get a solid answer for readers as soon as County Clerk Doug Curtis gets confirmation.
