Anna McClure of Benton has been hospitalized for 45 days with COVID-19, but she finally beat it. Saline Memorial Hospital, along with Anna’s family and friends, literally rolled out the red carpet after her discharge from the hospital on Wednesday.
Staffers cheered as she was rolled down the lobby hallway to exit the building, and if that wasn’t enough, as she came closer to the sliding double doors, there stood her family with tears of joy and open arms. She would finally be able to go home. The crowd cheered again as she stood from her wheelchair and leaned on a walker to make her way down the red carpet and to the car.
Hospital CEO Michael Stewart held the door open for Anna. Dr. Ahmad Yousaf, Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit, stood by the door to give her a final good-bye. You can hear Anna tell him, “I think I need to kiss you!” Yousaf laughs and says, “After this is all done.”
