The Saline County Library will be hosting several Summer Reading 2022 sign-up events during the month of June. The whole family is welcome to come by and get a chance to spin the prize wheel for each Summer Reading Challenge sign-up at all of the events.
The Hot Springs Village Summer Reading Celebration will be held on Friday, June 17th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Coronado Center Library located at 150 Ponderosa Lane, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.
There will be an interactive storytime for kids, crafts and take-home kits for all ages, seeds from the Seed Library, and snacks. Anyone is welcome to stop by for a kit or to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge.
The Summer Reading Fishing Derby will take place on Saturday, June 18th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Arkansas Health Center Pond located at 6701 US-67, Benton, AR 72015. The Saline County Library and Game and Fish Commission will be providing poles and bait at the pond.
Fishing poles are available on a first-come, first-served basis or you can bring your own.
“The Saline County Library serves more than just Benton and Bryant,” said Outreach Coordinator, Bella Cusimano. “It’s important that we bring the library outside of its four walls and provide our services and programs to outlier communities so they can enjoy all that the library has to offer.”
The community is encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge, not only for the prizes, but for the benefits that reading offers. From exercising empathy to reducing stress, it’s beneficial for all ages!
