BENTON, Ark. (April 9, 2024) – Parents and other caregivers will have an opportunity to learn about the services and products related to pregnancy and childcare during the Beautiful Beginnings Baby Fair at Saline Memorial Hospital from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20.
The baby fair is a family-inclusive event with games, a food truck and children’s activities, like a bubble house sponsored by the Benton chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and face painting.
“The baby fair is a great way for families to connect with the care and services they need,” said Brynn Doddridge, director of the hospital’s Women and Infants department.
Families that attend will have the opportunity to win prizes through the Baby Boot Camp Challenge from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., a baby-fair version of the Pyramid gameshow at 11:30 and raffles that will going on throughout the day. Dr. Ajitha Yeluru and Dr. Kisha Rogers, pediatricians, will share information on newborn and infant care at 12 p.m., and the maternity-to-toddler fashion show will take place at 1:30 p.m.
Dr. Ralynn Brann, Dr. Christina Green, Dr. Angela Myles and Dr. James Robb, obstetricians from Saline Women’s Clinic, will be available to answer questions and offer tips on pregnancy and childbirth.
“We know that choosing the person who will help bring your baby into the world and choosing a pediatrician to care for your children are two of the most important decisions you make as parents,” Brann said. “This is a great opportunity to meet several providers in a very relaxed, non-intimidating environment so that you can find someone who is the perfect fit for you and your family.”
Organizations like Ujima Maternity Network, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Rhea Lana’s of Benton-Bryant, GeeNee’s Dream Creations, Baby Bliss Ultrasound and more will be sharing information at tables in the atrium. Plus, Build-A-Bear Workshop will be on hand to create special moments for pregnant moms and children in attendance.
“We introduced the baby fair last year and enjoyed coming together as a community to celebrate with growing families,” said Char Boulch, the hospital’s chief nursing officer. “We invite everyone to come out and join us to make this year’s event even better!”
