Thursday night, September 14, 2017, Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis received an honorable mention at the Arkansas Digital Government Transformation awards in the category of Citizen Service, Digital Pioneer & Efficiency award category.

Curtis recently launched an email newsletter, the CHECKMARK, for election information. According to spokesperson Trevor Villines, Curtis is the first and only County Clerk is the state to do so. The office has been bringing election information to people through over 700 social media followers on Facebook & Twitter. There are also over 1,800 subscribers to the CHECKMARK email newsletter.
“We were extremely honored to receive the honorable mention by the Information Network of Arkansas,” stated Curtis. “It demonstrates how advancements in technology have made our office more efficient, and have made it easier to serve the citizens of Saline County. It proves the success of social media in communicating election information to voters.”
