Congratulations to this year’s recipients of scholarships from the Royal Players. This Scholarship program began in 1995. Three members of the Young Players theatre troupe were honored with scholarships. Chris Owen (not pictured) and Daphne Shoppach presented the awards.
Hayden Griffis, graduating from Bauxite High School, is the son of Michelle and Gentry Griffis. He plans to attend Arkansas Tech in Russellville and study mechanical engineering. He is one of two recipients in the first year of the Tucker Steinmetz Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a Young Player pursuing any major, in memory of Young Players Co-Founder, Mr. Tucker Steinmetz.
Brendle Roberts, graduating from Arkansas Virtual Academy, is the daughter of Corrie and Brent Roberts. She plans to attend National Park College to study Anthropology.
Zachary Glover, graduating Benton High School, is the son of Melissa and Mark Glover. He plans to attend UALR to major in music. He is the recipient of the Kelly James Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a performing arts major, in memory of the son of long time Royal Players volunteer Lou Ann Cameron..
Zachary is the recipient of the Kelly James Memorial Scholarship Zachary will graduate Benton HS and is the son of Mark and Melissa Glover. He plans to attend UALR and major in Music.
The Royal Players and Young Players have several upcoming shows. Look forward to The Little Mermaid, in June, Willy Wonka, Jr. in July and Little Women the Musical in August.
