The Royal Players announce that the public will soon be able to rent costumes. But first… They are moving their costume house and expanding.
The owner of The Costume Closet in Little Rock that rents costumes to the public is retiring and donating all of the costumes to The Royal Players. They plan to set up a rental service to the public and other theaters.
Welcome news to anyone who has had experience with the current costume house – the new location is right next to the theater and much bigger, with heat, air conditioning, and restrooms.
If you’re looking for community service hours, or maybe even a season pass, sign up below to help with the move. It will take several days to move everything and reorganize.
Anyone that helps will receive Community Service hours with documentation. In addition, each person who works at least 12 hours will receive a season pass to all the shows this season (December 2022 through August 2023). There is a limit of one pass per person.
Phase I is moving costumes from the Costume Closet in LR to new location. This will be on two Saturdays, September 10 & 17, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The location to pick up costumes is 9108 N. Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock.
They need as many hands as possible to load and move costumes. They will also need trucks and trailers to transport costumes back to Benton.
Phase II is moving items from the existing costume house to new location next to the theater. Dates and times for that are to be determined.
