In Saline County, we like to shop local and we like to give the little guy our business. However, sometimes, the person asking for your business isn’t what they appear to be. This roofing scam isn’t new, it makes legitimate businesses look bad, and it makes homeowners wonder who they can trust. Here’s the message I just received from a MySaline reader:
“Hi, love your blogs and all your work helping this county. Just wanted to let you know that the roof scammer is back. Today my 92-year-old neighbor was not only scammed, but the thief went into her home and stole additional money. She came to me and we called the police. All we know is that he had “very spiky,” dark hair, and was driving a black truck. Any help from you would be appreciated. Our elderly do not deserve this. I was lucky a few months ago, the same thing happened to me. These people are very aggressive. Please let everyone know to look out for their elderly family and neighbors.”
