MySaline got many questions about some pending construction at Alcoa and Boone Roads, so we included info in the business update in December 2016 about Roller Ballard Funeral Home building an additional facility there. Months went by and locals wondered if it would ever be built, but Friday June 2, 2017 at 11 a.m., the company broke ground on the new Roller-Alcoa facility.
In the process, it was revealed that Greg Smith (pictured below), who has 37 years in the funeral business, will return to Roller to manage both the downtown Benton facility and this new facility at Alcoa.
In the video, see comments from Bill Booker, President of Roller; Chris Madison, City of Bryant Staff Attorney; David Mattingly, City of Benton Mayor; and Kim Hammer, State Representative (Dist. 28). Afterward, dignitaries donned the Roller-Alcoa hard hats and picked up the golden shovels to dig the first dirt.
