An Arkansas businessman is opening a music store in Bryant soon. David McFarlin has been a bass player since 2000 and says he was always working on his musical instruments, building them to make what he wanted. He began a job as a guitar tech a few years ago and eventually decided to go into business for himself. Rocktown Music started in Little Rock in early 2019, but David chose to move his business to Saline County.
“My decision to move from Little Rock to Bryant came from wanting to align my business with the community,” said McFarlin. “Before the internet and ‘big box’ guitar stores, you would find most every community had a local ‘corner’ music store. I want to bring back that ‘corner music store’ nostalgia.”
The store will mostly sell guitars in the beginning, but will rent instruments as well, and will soon stock wind instruments. David is able to repair all stringed instruments as well as brass and woodwind.
“I do have a full line of accessories for guitar – and have begun adding brass and woodwind accessories to my inventory,” said David. “I do plan to carry music lesson books as well.”
Among the other things the music store will offer, Paul Brock, a Bryant resident, will also do guitar instruction.
The store is located at 3411 Main St. Ste.4, and McFarlin plans to open to the public September 14th, 2020.

I will open on 9/14. I have no previous history with Saline County – though I did move to the Shannon Hills area in January. I would also like to say that I have band rental instruments and I have a studio with an awesome guitar instructor – Paul Brock, who is a Bryant resident.
