Radio broadcast professional RJ Hawk, who serves on the Bryant Parks and Recreation Committee, released the following statement to announce his goal for a City Council seat.
RJ Hawk, on-air personality/producer for 103.7 The Buzz, today announced his candidacy for Ward 2, Position 1 on the Bryant City Council.
“Bryant needs strong leaders who come to the table with ideas and a willingness to do what is right for the community, he said. “I look forward to serving in that leadership role on the council, and will do my part to keep Bryant moving forward.”
A resident of Bryant for three years, Hawk said he chose Bryant because of the quality of life the community gives a family along with the outstanding school system.
“I care deeply about giving back to the community,” he said. “I consider serving on the council not as a politician, but as a public servant. I want to do all I can to make Bryant a place that people want to live, work and raise a family in the future.”
RJ is currently serving on the Bryant Parks committee, and has also helped raise over $100,000 for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, The Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas and the Arkansas Salutes the Troops organization.
“Giving back to the community is what I was raised to do. My position at 103.7 The Buzz has given me the platform to help many different organizations throughout the state of Arkansas.”
Hawk, 33, is married to Brianna Hawk and they have daughter named Addison, age 1. He graduated college from the University of Central Arkansas with degrees in journalism and marketing.
