Rick Long announced recently he is filing as a Republican candidate for Saline County Judge.
Long states “While I am not running against a particular person or candidate, I am running for the people of Saline County. My goal is to scale back government overreach and return county government into the hands of the people of Saline County.
“I intend to implement an open door policy which will allow Saline County residents an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns directly to the office of the county judge and will encourage county residents to participate in county government and hold elected county officials accountable by attending our quorum court meetings.”
Long is a lifelong resident of Saline County and is a graduate of Benton High School. He is married to Karen Beckwith Long for almost 43 years and has three children and 6 grandchildren.
He has worked in administrative positions for over 15 years and has also served on the front lines in the medical field a a Registered Nurse of 30 years. Long has extensive experience working on budget development, policy development and implementation, and staff/talent development. He has a strong track record for bringing people together and accomplishing positive outcomes.
