MySaline saw several months ago that Regions Bank in Benton requested for the Benton City Planning Commission to rezone property so they could place a temporary building there. The reason for that is they had a plan to smash up their old building and put in a new one.

Driving by their location at 917 Military Road on Tuesday afternoon, motorists could see that smashing had begun. They are still open, complete with ATM, night deposit box and teller window at that location, but you will find them in a portable building at the back of the lot, accessible from Lillian Street. You will have to get out of your car to access each of these amenities. If that’s an issue, you can drive a little farther down the street to the downtown Benton location at 112 River Street.
