Marcus Lee White, Sr. 90 of Lonsdale, Arkansas departed this life on June 11, 2017. He was born in Dallas, Texas on December 25, 1926. Marcus proudly served with the 11 Airborne Division in the Philippines during WWII. He was a 45 year veteran with the Little Rock Fire Dept. and 15 years with the Lonsdale Fire Department. Marcus was a member of the Hurricane Lake Baptist Church and lifelong Mason. He was a mentor and father figure to many. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, Malcom and Lora Bea White, sisters, Willie Bea and Delores and his oldest son, Marcus Lee White, Jr. and wife of 53 years, Hughgla Mae. James Kennerly Ellis, age 87, of Benton died Sunday June 18, 2017, He was born August 5, 1929 in Thornton, Arkansas. James was retired from Alcoa, a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, and a member of Mason Lodge # 34, for 50 years, a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club He was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for many years. Esther Marie Mycroft Henderson Fankhauser, 84, of Hot Springs Village, AR passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. She was born September 15, 1932 in Covington, IN to Willard and Marguerite (Stoup) Mycroft. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Fankhauser, her parents and brother, Robert Mycroft. She is survived by her two daughters: Denise Paull and Julie Henderson; son, Brent Henderson as well as three grandchildren: Alex Paull, Nicholas Paull and Brent W. Henderson. Marie moved to the Village in 1990. She was active during her time in various clubs including WGA 18, Bridge and Cribbage. In her later years, she was best known to hit the road and let the car take her wherever…oftentimes to find a good piece of pie, a state park she had not discovered, a back road she had not driven or an estate sale she just had to check out. Evelyn K. Lichti, 95, passed away peacefully at Village Springs Nursing Home June 14, 2017. She was born January 30, 1922 to Pete & Alma Stutzman in Nebraska. She moved to the Village 21 years ago from Lakewood California where she had worked for Sears for over 30 years. She was known for her beautiful smile and the warm hugs she had for everyone she met. She was a member of Christ of the Hills Methodist Church since moving to the Village. Evelyn married Floyd Lichti in July 1940. Floyd passed away in February 1989 after 49 years of marriage. Others who preceded her in death were her parents Pete & Alma Stutzman and one sister Ruth Schrock. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Piper (Larry) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and son, Timothy Lichti (Carolyn) of Goshen, Indiana. She has four Grandchildren David Piper, Duane Piper, Jason Lichti and Nathan Lichti. She has 8 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren. Many Nieces and Nephews. She will be greatly missed by all her family. A celebration of her life will be held at Christ of the Hills Methodist Church on Friday June 23, 2017 at 11:00AM. Clinton Everett “Clint” Howell of Benton, entered eternity on June 11, 2017, at age 41. He was born to Lannie and Linda Howell in Benton, Arkansas, on September 22, 1975, and joined sisters Senna and Teresa, and later brother Matthew, for many fun and happy years. Clint loved working with horses and tractors; spending time hunting, fishing, and making knives with his son, Josh; and Clint always enjoyed “trying to pull one over” on his family and many friends. Most of all, he enjoyed helping others. Clint was a life-long resident of Saline County, only leaving for a brief period of time to train as a Farrier in Oklahoma. He was a trained and licensed Farrier; a furniture mover, later owning and operating his own moving company; he also owned and operated his own lawn care business; and had recently become an Apprentice Plumber. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Lola Willis of Heber Springs, Arkansas; grandfather Stacy Howell of Pangburn, Arkansas; and Ellon Turley of Benton, Arkansas. He is survived by his son Josh Howell, and a step-son Grant Calvin; his devoted parents; two caring sisters, Senna Howell and Teresa Weston, and brothers-in-law Jason Howell and David Weston; his brother and partner in many young adventures, Matthew, and sister-in-law April Howell; nieces Livy and Sophie Tilley, Kate Weston, and Alexandria Howell; his nephews Chance and Drew Tilley, and Clayton and Kevin Weston; and a great-niece Callie Weston, who will all cherish many fond memories and stories of him; along with a host of family and friends who all love and miss him dearly. Kathleen Luchsinger 80 of Alexander, passed away on June 14, 2017. She was born to Leo and Verna McClure in Upper Glade, West Virginia on October 8, 1936. Bob Peterson, loving father and Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War, died peacefully Wednesday morning. Bob is preceded in death by his wife Jaki, parents, Henry and Alta Peterson of Saint Paul, MN., brother Ken and sister Shirley. Mitchell “Pappy” Bobo Sr. 77, of Alexander passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017. He was born on April 12, 1940 to the late, Lois and Bessie Bobo in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mitchell enjoyed hunting, fishing, race cars and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Herbert Bobo. Myong Hui Munoz a beloved wife and friend passed away June 7th, 2017 in Benton, Arkansas. Myong is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gabriel Munoz. Myong was born in Seoul Korea. She attended the University of Texas at Austin in 1979, but actually began her education with Martial Arts training at the age of three and she never stopped. She went on to become one of the most highly respected Martial Arts instructors in the country. Grandmaster Kathy as she was known to her martial arts family, was an 8th Dan Black Belt, and one of the highest-ranking women in the world. She had studied martial arts for over 60 years. Grandmaster Kathy Munoz taught martial arts in Wimberley, Texas during the late 90s and still maintains a dedicated following of students and close friends in the community. A memorial mass is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, June 12, 2017 at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church with a reception to follow immediately after, at the church reception hall. With loving hearts, the family of Ivan Bruce DeYoung, announce his passing on June 8, 2017, at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Letitia DeYoung and his sister, Joyce. After spending his early years on the family farm in Norton, Kansas, Ivan met Bernice while studying mathematics education at Anderson College in Anderson, IN. They were wed in June of 1962, and after a few years settled with their growing family in Benton, Arkansas. He obtained a Master’s Degree from Kansas State University, and went on to teach for 33 years for Benton Public Schools until his retirement in 1997. In addition to teaching math, he spent years in service to the church as a music leader and Sunday School teacher. He was a master whistler, and he could sing or whistle any song from his extensive collection of Gaither Homecoming videos. A man of many hobbies, he was always tinkering with or fixing something, and he ensured there were plenty of tools for everyone else under the Christmas tree each year. He loved and spent many hours in the woods or stream with a pole, bow or rifle in his hands. While he took great joy in the accomplishments of his kids and grandkids, no one can deny the pride he took in finally seeing his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series. A devoted husband and father, he will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Benton; his brother, Arnold (wife, Marylin); his sisters: Blanche Steinaker, Ardith Flowers, Dorcas McAllister (husband, Joseph); his brother-in-law, Dave Reid; his children, Andy (wife, Angela) of Rogers, Bruce (wife, Ingrid) of Siloam Springs, Bill (wife, Cheryl) of Benton, and Keena (husband, Stephen Antonelli) of Catonsville, MD; and eight grandchildren, David (wife, Cassie), Zack (wife, Rachel), Kevin (fiancee, Holly), Luke, Elizabeth, Maggie, Lilly and Layla; and other relatives and friends. Rebecca ”Becky” Huff Arellanes Terrien, 68, of Benton passed away June 2, 2017 in Little Rock. She was born in June 22, 1948, the daughter of P.D. and Sybil Huff, and graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1966. Her achievements include becoming one of the youngest real estate brokers in Little Rock; owning a property management business and beauty salon; supporting the International Order of the Rainbow Girls and DeMolay International; being a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the first female Pulaski County Republican Committee chairman, and an Arkansas delegate at two Republican National Committee conventions and coordinating two presidential elections. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Terrien, and survived by her son, Mark Arellanes serving at Little Rock Air Force Base; her daughter, Melissa May of South Carolina; her brother, Bill Kerr of Maumelle; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
